FAQs

Q: Does the 50% of the sponshorship money that we donate have to go to a registered charity or can it be donated to a local group who are fund raising?
A:You can donate your half of your sponsorship to whomever you choose. Supporting a local group is a great idea, in actual fact Rotary supports many charities and deserving causes and many of them are not registered charities.

Q: Can children join in 3yrs and 2yrs if yes how much would their entrance fee be?
A: The minimum age for entrants is 12 years or over so as to comply with our insurer's conditions. Consequently anyone below that age can't participate, having said that you are running/walking on public roads so we cannot stop anyone walking or running along them

Q: Do I have to wear the official Santa outfit?
A: You can run in any outfit you want provided it's legal!

Q: Can I register to run on the day?
A: Yes you can but we would prefer it if you did so in advance as there will always be a few runners who register on the day so we would like to keep the queues to a minimum. Also don't forget only the first 750 entrants get a free Santa outfit.

Q: We are taking part in an expedition next year and have to raise £4000 each to fund the trip. We were wondering if the 50% donation to the rotary's chosen charity is compulsory or if we can focus our sponsorship money onto funding the expedition?
A: The two Rotary clubs who organize this event use it as one of its major fund raising events each year and it enables us to support many charities and deserving causes. We therefore would like to think that all runners support us by donating 50% of the money they raise.
However each year Rotary, in particular our own club in Marlow, support a number of World Challenge participants so without funds from such event as the Santa Fun Run we would not be able to do so.

Q: Where can I leave my belongings whilst on the run?
A: There are limited changing facilities in the Park and we do recommend you arrive in your running gear. However we have arranged for a free baggage holding area to be available from 8:30am. Please note that whilst Rotarians will be on duty we cannot be held responsible for any losses.

Q: Will there be water stations?
A: There will be two, one halfway around the course and one at the finish in Higginson Park.

Q: Is there car parking close by?
A: Yes, a pay and display car park is adjacent to Higginson Park and various Car Parks around Marlow. Charges are approximately £1 for 2 hours and £1.50 for 3, however they can change as dictated by Wycombe Council. Please note car parks are shown on the Runners Instructions which will be sent to every participant and also on the Download Page
